Weekly Introductory Morning Meditation
We’re offering a Tuesday morning meditation, from 7:45 – 8:45am. The format is flexible, but the starting point will be about 15 minutes of instruction, a 20 minute guided meditation, and then time for discussion. This will be offered on line (sign up for email list above to receive zoom link) and in person. No need to sign up.

Upcoming Drop In Classes
No registration required. Classes include a talk about a Buddhist topic, a guided meditation, and time for discussion. This year we are also trying out hybrid classes that are both on-line (sign up for email list above to receive zoom link) and in person. Note some classes are listed as on-line only.

  • Mindfulness of Feeling-Tone
    Thurs, Oct 15 2026. 7:00 – 8:30pm
    On-line and in-person with Eric
Feeling-Tone is the spectrum of affect that goes from pleasant to unpleasant. Investigating this foundation of mindfulness as well as what follows is a key practice which can lead to insight and freedom from suffering.
  • The 5 Spiritual Faculties
    Tues, Oct 27 2026. 7:00 – 8:30pm
    On-line only with Ellen
Faith, energy, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom. These words (along with spiritual) have specific meanings in the context of Buddhist practice. In this class we will discuss them and see how they are beneficial and applicable in both our meditation practice and our everyday lives.
  • Heart Practices
    Wed, Nov 18 2026. 7:00 – 8:30pm
    On-line and in-person with Eric
Mindfulness gets all the press… but Heartfulness is just as important. In this class, we will discuss and practice how we train in the skillful qualities of the heart that lead to freedom : friendliness/kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity.
  • truth
    Mon, Nov 30 2026. 7:00 – 8:30pm
    On-line only with Ellen
Avoiding the dogmatism sometimes associated with “capital T” Truth, we will instead focus on “small t” truth, in 2 ways : how we communicate with others and how we are able to be honest with ourselves, both consciously and unconsciously.
  • The 8 Fold Path
    Tues, Dec 15 2026. 7:00 – 8:30pm
    On-line and in-person with Eric
Meditation is only one aspect of Buddhist practice. In this class we will discuss other aspects of the path related to wisdom and ethics and how they all integrate and support one another. In this way, we can perhaps more readily see how our practice is not separate from our daily life and how our life is our path.
